How to update Java!
STEP 1. The fastest way to upgrade Java manually is through the ‘Run’ panel. So click the Start button on your desktop and immediately type in ‘java’. The system will present several results, but you will need to run ‘Configure Java’.
Note: in the Windows XP/Vista click Start and then ‘Run’. In the appeared window type java and press Enter.
STEP 2. Here you can check all settings regarding use of Java. Open the “Update” panel to change preferences and upgrade Java copy on your PC.
Certainly, you can set up Java Updates to renew automatically. If you click on the button “Advanced”, the Control Panel will offer you to personalize how often (daily/weekly) Java will alert you regarding new editions. At the moment you can simply click on the button “Update Now”.
STEP 3. In case there will be available the update, Java will open the window for its installation. And now click ‘Install’!
STEP 4. Here Java provides some information for you to read. Pay attention to the link that leads to the special section about which info is collected by Oracle when you download and install Java. Read also the license agreement. Then click “Install”! After that read how to use Java.
Note: if you want to change the destination folder for Java installation files, tick the box in this window.
STEP 5. And now you only need to wait until the latest secured version of Java is installed.
STEP 6. Check out the “Welcome” message.
Note: after you click “Close”, your default browser will be launched so you can assess the updated version of Java.
