Why reset Safari browser?
Safari browser, similarly to any other browser, saves a thick chunk of data on your computer. This data includes History, cache and cookies, the list of the Top Sites, saved passwords and Autofill forms, tracking information, settings for plug-ins, etc. In order to delete all that stuff at once Safari provides the function Reset. Let’s reset Safari.
Reset Safari through the Edit menu.
If you see the Menu bar on the top of Safari window, click on Edit (arrow 1) to open the pop-up menu and select Reset Safari (arrow 2). There is another way to launch this procedure, so scroll down to the next screenshot.
Reset Safari through General Settings.
In case you do not see the Menu bar in Safari, click on the button (arrow 1) to open General Settings and select Reset Safari (arrow 2) from there.
When you click on Reset (either through Edit or General Settings), Safari will show an alert. You need to make sure that all passwords are saved in secure place, because the browser will delete them. Safari will also replace the Top Sites with standard ones and wipe out all downloaded files. Uncheck the boxes if you wish to save something.
